Our Commitment to Privacy

At 45 Bit Studios, we believe your personal reflections and self-discovery journey are deeply private. Ikigai is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle, not an afterthought.

The short version: Your data stays on your devices and in your private iCloud. We cannot see it, access it, or sell it to anyone.

Data Storage

All your data in Ikigai—including journal entries, goals, reflections, and Ikigai discoveries—is stored exclusively in two places:

  • On your device: Data is stored locally using Apple's secure storage mechanisms.
  • In your private iCloud: If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud container, encrypted end-to-end.

We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's CloudKit Private Database ensures that only you can access your information.

Data We Don't Collect

  • Your journal entries or reflections
  • Your goals or Ikigai discoveries
  • Personal identifiers or contact information
  • Location data
  • Browsing history or app usage patterns

Analytics

We use Apple's privacy-preserving analytics to understand aggregate app usage. This data is completely anonymized, aggregated across all users, and impossible to trace back to any individual.

Third-Party Services

Ikigai does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service used is Apple's App Store for purchases, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently removes your data from your device and iCloud. Since we don't have copies of your data, deletion is complete and irreversible.
